Missiledine: Ven last ve met, you disscussed a plan... are we sticking with it?
Dukejr01: yup.

Missiledine: Ok, lets review... Jacinta will board the coach in the guise og Danika. She will be accompanied by a driver, Miklas and five (?)
militia... right?
Dukejr01: 4 militia and the other female merc
Missiledine: ok

Dukejr01: sounds good,
Missiledine: Jacinta will be wearing a lovely little number with plunging neckline, off the shoulder straps and a thh cut seam...

Dukejr01: weapons and armour will be packed in the coach as "luggage"
tacit01: Jacinta will want her sword in the coach
Dukejr01: we will send he tent along that way she can put her armour on etc.

Dukejr01: hmmm.. that does weigh a 100 pounds, doesn't it?

Dukejr01: maybe that is a touch much. we should have her weapons and armour inthe coach with her tho
Missiledine: it'll take the whole crew to put it up

tacit01: make sure she has a largeish cloak along as well - she can wear armor underneach, once on the road, and still maintain the act

Missiledine: By morning the tack repairs will be completed and the coach cleaned up

Dukejr01: oh,. I thought they would be finishing inthe morning
Missiledine: They will work on it all night
tacit01: Dave - how many days do we want to keep the ruse up?
Missiledine: Ollyn will announce that all is ready, when ever you are....
Dukejr01: hmmm... okay. though I thought we were going to give the bad guys an eaiser shot at her, have her leave at noon.
Dukejr01: easier.
Dukejr01: also. that makes it easier for us to get to her in case of trouble.
Missiledine: if you want, leave at noon... the coach is ready, thats all
Dukejr01: okay. send them off at noon.

Missiledine: it took you 2 days to get here from Boma, but that was a slow caravan.... Of course the Militia will be walking, so it will still be a slow
trip back to Boma
Dukejr01: oh. troy. sorry, missed the post. um. I assume that if they don't hit you before you get to Boma. they never will
Missiledine: You won't pull into Boma till well afterdark of the second day
Dukejr01: and another thing. if there IS a turncoat. they may try to put something in teh stew at night to knock out the militia who are not in on it. be careful

tacit01: didn't realize Boma was so close - if the ruse doesn't work, shall I request reinforcements from (whoever the lord in Boma is)
tacit01: I'll eat rations - keep them in the coach, or on my person - same with water

Dukejr01: no. just turn around. Iwill give them money to stay in Boma overnight before returning. If Lord Boma asks. you may tell him what is going on.. A will not
want to send a letter with you because we are expecting/hoping the trip will be compromised.

Dukejr01: how big is the coach?
Missiledine: Uhmm, if the trip is compromised, won't the bad guys know its a trick anyway?
Dukejr01: i mean,. A won't send a letter to Lord Voma because it might be intercepted.
Missiledine: can seat six a bit snugly
Dukejr01: i.e. they might all die and the bad guys get it.
Dukejr01: so, on the return trip they can all pile in
Missiledine: yeah... and your point is?

Dukejr01: the point is that I don't want such a letter to fall into enemy hands
Dukejr01: I wouldnt' send top secret missives on a fighter plane sent to escort bombers over germany either.
Missiledine: A letter requesting help and telling all you know, which they obviously know you know....
Dukejr01: they don't know we know of the demon.
Missiledine: uhmm, true
Missiledine: but a letter asking for aid would be appropriate
Dukejr01: this is something of a game of cat and mouse. I am trying to play some of our cards close to the chest

Dukejr01: okay. Athamar will pen a missive. he will NOT tell of the demon, nor of the list of troop movements we found. nor of the overheard conversation.

Missiledine: What are you asking Boma to do?
Dukejr01: A will ask for an escort to be sent to take Danika to Boma for safekeeping. when that escort arrivesm he will send a more complete letter with them.
Dukejr01: Troy: YOu may fill in Lord Boma verbally of everything that is going on. exccept of course for the secret tunnel.
Missiledine: So you want Boma to send an escort back with the coach, to take Danika back for real?
Dukejr01: yes.
Missiledine: got it
Dukejr01: sound convoluted but we are hoping they don't make it to Boma and turn back with prisoners.
Dukejr01: A will personally make sure Danika stays out of sight.
Missiledine: Gallus will come byand ask, "What do you want done with the, er, headless corpse?"
Dukejr01: good question. will entomb work on it? preserving it?
Missiledine: Ok, just to complete the plan... what 2will Athamar and Company be doing while Jacinta and company are off being killed?
Dukejr01: I don't want to keep the corpse, I just don't have time to bury it, stand watch, etc.

Dukejr01: A will be making a show of exploring the Fangs. he will want to check out the water source and that big room. Most importantly. he will use Seek earth
to try and find the bastids.
Missiledine: yes.. it will preserve

Dukejr01: cool. A will entomb the corpse where it is, under the stable. I assume that he has cast earth vision so he knows what is below?
Missiledine: You assume? ... Ok, there is nothing underneath that you can see...
Dukejr01: sorry, I don't know if I did that or not yet. if not then that is A;s morning,. cast Earth Vision,. Entomb, plus recovery. then sense foes on the guys.
Missiledine: when will you go to the Fangs? Before or after the coach leaves?
Dukejr01: the afternoon we will use seek earth to find the bad guys
Dukejr01: after. since his morning will be filled.

Dukejr01: the plan in the fangs is to explore, we won't bother trying to smoke em out again.
Missiledine: who is going with you?
Missiledine: What are YOU taking with you?
Dukejr01: With A? I assumes some militia, Ollyn, some mercs. Gallus and Nordan can try to keep Dan out of sight
Dukejr01: I suppose A should have some armour.
Missiledine: that is what i wanted to know... what kind?
Dukejr01: what is available? lamellar is rather too heavy for him.
Missiledine: Will screw your spell casting too
Dukejr01: yes. A will need to have reinf leather made later. but for now, is there a light leather jacket available or something?
Missiledine: studded leather is the heaviest you can wear without it affecting your casting
Dukejr01: okay. is there any?
Missiledine: yes, a couple of the mercs traded in studded (reinforced) for the better gear you were offering
Dukejr01: okay. see if some fits
Missiledine: shouldn't be a problem

Missiledine: ok... your Sense Foes does not show there to be any hostiles in the Coach's escort... The body is entombed...you are recovered.. the
coach is loaded with gear, weapons, etc... all you need is Danika (Jacinta) to climb in... any last minute instructions/comments?

Dukejr01: oh. that is one thing. do they have the Xbow tih the cont light bolt?
Missiledine: yeah
Dukejr01: okay. might work, might not. also, we should have an exaclt place for the stop for he night picked out os the reinforcement know exactly where to go.

Missiledine: well, you can pull the coach right up to the main doors and steps

Dukejr01: we do, the militia can wait at the village so they don't have to walk there and back
Missiledine: Well, they can wait outside the gates,. you need to pass the manor house on the way to Boma
Dukejr01: oh,. I thought it was the other way around. okay
Dukejr01: give them a beer while they wait.
Missiledine: no, through the village to the Monastary and Oak Hall

Missiledine: do you care if YOUR people know about the switch?
tacit01: the fewer eyes, the better - I assume the story will be going around that Danika is leaving, so people will assume that the damsel in the coach is Danika
Missiledine: One certainly hopes
Dukejr01: yes. np one knows but gallus, Ollyn, naturally the two mercs involved. nordan and the sibs
Missiledine: ok, then things are a bit trickier. You will need to make sure that all the women, children etc are off on errands etc... otherwise they will
want to be there to see Danika off
Dukejr01: well, maybe we should do the switcheroo thing I mentioned.
Missiledine: Gallus and Nordan will set about trying to coordinate that
Dukejr01: that might please DAnika. intrihue

Missiledine: Gallus says, "As long as everyone is confined to the house until tomorrow morning, it really doesn't matter who sees... amongst out
own people that is."

Missiledine: Also, Gallus adds, "Getting Danika out of the coach, without a fuss, outside the manor, and back inside without a scene, may prove,
err, difficult."
Dukejr01: better point.
Missiledine: So...?
Dukejr01: have everyone see her off. but have her step in the coach at one side and out the other. no one but household will know, that way the milita see her get
in,. trustd people see her get out.
Missiledine: The Militia are outside the courtyard... right? They are not in the manor at all...
Dukejr01: right. they would not see inthe gates?
Dukejr01: who is the driver?
Dukejr01: can miklas drive?
Missiledine: they would, if they look, see the side of the coach that is not being opened... The driver is one of your mercs
Dukejr01: I thought we were minimizing the number of combatants in order to appear weak?
Dukejr01: or is he in disguise?
Missiledine: Miklas could drive if you want
Dukejr01: okay, miklas can drive.
Missiledine: just to clarify... Jacinta, Miklas, Female merc, 4 militia... Right?
Dukejr01: okay, it doesn't matter then. we say the good bye thing, but J gets in the coach instead. I suppoe some people are surprised but the y will be confined

Missiledine: Jacinta is in the coach, the female merc is in the coach, Miklas snaps the reins and the coach pulls out. Through the gate the four
militia fall in behind and off you go towards Boma
Dukejr01: yay!
Dukejr01: <they were forced to eat Robin's minstrals>
Missiledine: The Militia could ride up top and cling on the back as footmen to speed things up a bit
Missiledine: 2 on top, 2 on back
Dukejr01: go for it. just so they get to the predetermined stopping pint and no furthur
tacit01: yeah!
Missiledine: okay then... The coach disappears into the trees... what are the rest of you doing?
Dukejr01: okay. we should have a "rescue" party detailed and rested so they can quickly get to the trojan horse. the rest should go to the Fangs and return to
making lots of noise and flash to keep them in their hole until dark. incidently, we could mention aloud a few timmes how Danika is being sent to safety.
Dukejr01: A will use Seek Earth. lookingfor silver or gold. and try to trace the bad guys thru their treasure.
Missiledine: who is in the rescue party?
Missiledine: that isn't going to the Fangs
Dukejr01: okay. we ned volunteers. firt, will they use the horses or sneak thru the woods on the way to the redevous?
Missiledine: Horses? You mean the ones pulling the coach?
Dukejr01: who are good woodsmen?
Dukejr01: okay okay
Missiledine: Well, your best woodsmen are Jacinta and the female merc...
Dukejr01: lol. great.
Missiledine: Tell me more about the rescue team...
Dukejr01: okay. who is up for a walk in the woods? we could simply cut short our Fangs effort and rest, then head out after dark.
Missiledine: how many, when are they leaving... stuff like that
Missiledine: Will you use the road or travel in the woods?
Dukejr01: okay. I am thinking four. they will be walking thru the woods on the way to the redevous point. so they should head out ASAP.
Missiledine: true
Dukejr01: they will be slower than the coach. and they will want to be rested and in position when the shit hits the fan.
Missiledine: okay, 4.. led by?
Dukejr01: what I am thinking is that four people head out on foot with light packs. they will go to to the rendevous point nd wait there under cover.
Dukejr01: Olyn would be the best choice. and three mercs. that leaves me with two mercs plus gallus

Missiledine: uhm, I have to go medicate a guinea pig... brb

Dukejr01: they should be circumspect makesure no one else is around.

Dukejr01: I dunno, how many are available? did we call out half?

Dukejr01: all then. so we can cover more ground. they had the morning to take care of their own business.
Missiledine: All it is... except for the four with the coach

Dukejr01: good. firsthing we do is check out the water source.
Missiledine: they assemble outside the manor and await your orders... They seem cheered to see you up and around again
Missiledine: You arrive in the courtyard of the Fangs without incident.
Dukejr01: Athamar grins at them. "I havea scar to remind me not to be foolish"
Dukejr01: okay. we leave 5 militia here. one should keep a lookout toward village and manor. just in case.
Missiledine: ok
Dukejr01: first placeto head is the water room.
Missiledine: 18 of you going in
Dukejr01: how bug are the tunnels? will 18 be completely unweildy?
Missiledine: you can easily find Jacinta's marks, and some of the militia with you were with Jacinta
Dukejr01: good. they direct us.
Missiledine: depends how yopu form them... width averages 12'
Dukejr01: okay. lets take all 18, since I plan to check out that big room
Dukejr01: lets move by 2's
Missiledine: in no time at all you are in the chamber with the pool.... There are four entrences into the circular area, one of which you enter by.
Another has the stream running in. There is a dry walk around the outer edge of the room, with a pool in the center. In the middle of the pool is a
large rock/boulder..
Dukejr01: hmmm... is the tunnel with the water coming in large enough for people?
Missiledine: yes
Missiledine: same size as the one you came out of
Dukejr01: how much water is coming in? would it be pracitcal to flood the fangs lower level?
Missiledine: not for a very long time
Dukejr01: A will cast light and send it into the water. he wants to take a closer look atthe boulder.
Missiledine: assuming that the fangs are water tight
Missiledine: the water appears to be 10 or 12 feet deep around the boulder
Dukejr01: ist he water clear?
Missiledine: yeah, pretty clear and cold
Dukejr01: hmmm... I would like the check out the boulder, how far is it from the dry walk?
Missiledine: maybe 10'
Dukejr01: what doesthe boulder look like? is it natural? is it plugging the drain
Dukejr01: ?
Missiledine: the ceiling is quite high here, maybe thirty feet... the boulder sticks up, out of the water, like a jagged tooth, maybe twenty feet high
(from the surface)
Missiledine: water must be draining out somewhere down in the pool, since it is not overflowing the walk
Dukejr01: how deep is the water flowing in?
Missiledine: maybe a foot... there is a definate channel cut in the floor for it
Dukejr01: okay. lets see the big room. make sure torches and cont lights are distributed.
Missiledine: okay, your guide leads you up the tunnels to where it opens out into the big chamber
Missiledine: <I may get bumped off aim. My connection is getting fidgety>
Dukejr01: wow. Athamar steps into the room. lets have the trroops arranged in a rough semicircle.
Dukejr01: Athamar casts Seek Earth. looking for silver
Missiledine: You immediately detect silver on one of the Militia
Dukejr01: Athamar rolls his eyes. okay. I forgot to tell them. A talks to gallus. we QUIETLY spreadthe word that anyone with silver or gold on them tell gallus how
much so the spell works.
Missiledine: There is a whispered discussion that lasts a couple minutes. Finally you think that you know all of it..
Dukejr01: okay, how much am I excluding?
Dukejr01: a couple coins? more?
Missiledine: Maybe 10 coins as the largest amount
Dukejr01: okay. exclude that amount. cast again. hope the bad guys carryy more
Missiledine: you find yourself drawn to your right
Dukejr01: how far?
Missiledine: little less then a quarter mile
Dukejr01: so, within the Fangs?
Missiledine: you would think so
Dukejr01: okay, Athamr signals Gallus,. what is to the right?
Missiledine: wall
Dukejr01: any passages leading thataway?
Missiledine: no, you can go deeper into the room, or you can go back to the water room
Missiledine: not sure if you'll find a passage going right direction in the big room tho
Dukejr01: lets go deeper, see if we can triangulate. lets spread out a little stay within sight of eachother. in pairs.
Dukejr01: lets try to head generallt toward the right.
Dukejr01: maybe one side of the line follow the wall
Missiledine: You can do that, but the main room is broken up with dozens and dozens of rough hewn pillars set at irregular intervals
Missiledine: It will make it tough to maintain contact with the far left opf the line
Dukejr01: okay. we contract the line so we do not break up the groups and lose contact.
Dukejr01: Favor safety
Missiledine: well, 23 men, stretched out at any size interval, say three feet per man, will make a 70' line which will not extend across the chamber,
the left end won't be able to see the far wall, but it will stil;l be broken by many pillars
Dukejr01: how big of pillars? will we be able to flow around them?
Missiledine: yes, most are maybe 3 or 4 foot in diameter, some are a bit larger
Missiledine: (Big enough to hide behind)
Dukejr01: okay. that sounds good. we are really exploring and fining a way to the right
Dukejr01: right. which is why we stay together. with one person per hex, everyone wil lhave a buddy right beside them
Missiledine: ok, the right end of the line maintains contact with the wall of the chamber... where are you in the line?
Dukejr01: toward the wall, close enough to see it.
Missiledine: the wall is not regular, there are many indentations and outcroppings as you move along it
Dukejr01: okay. we stop at indentations to see if they are passages.
Missiledine: so far none
Dukejr01: okay, that is the primary goal
Missiledine: you continue moving along until, ahead you see a darker indentation, an opening
Dukejr01: okay. call for a stop and gahter here. A will cast Seek earth again.
Missiledine: Again to the right, but back further
Dukejr01: okay,. lets take this oassage
Missiledine: distance is about the same
Missiledine: the passage curves to the right. at about a 45 degree angle and runs level for about forty feet before coming to a T
Dukejr01: okay. left is closer, yes?
Missiledine: closer to what?
Dukejr01: left
Dukejr01: go left
Missiledine: ok
Missiledine: about thirty feet on the passage begins rising steeply
Dukejr01: hmmm...
Missiledine: after climbing maybe forty or fifty feet, the passage turns left, 90 degrees, and continues to climb
Missiledine: <Damn! My dog is prancing around needing to go out! BRB... sorry.>
Missiledine: back
Dukejr01: dude
Missiledine: everyone still here?

Missiledine: ok
Missiledine: <While I am thinking about it... Can you guys play Sunday night? Say, after 9pm EST?>
Dukejr01: this sunday is clear for me
tacit01: yah, I think so
Missiledine: good, I'll look for you and we can pick this up where ever we leave it
Missiledine: after another thirty feet climbing the passage again turns left and continues climbing
Dukejr01: k
Missiledine: by your estimation you should be above the upper level passages and in one of the high 'towere'
Dukejr01: k
Missiledine: again the passage turns left and climbs, for about twenty feet, then it opens into a chamber. As you step out of the passage you hear
the 'snap' and 'thunk' of a crossbow. The man behind you (militia) screams and goes down
Dukejr01: A ducks and goes to the man to aid him.
Missiledine: the chamber is about 25'x 25', though like all the other rooms in this mazxe, it isn't square. Ther is a rough wooden framework, like a
sawhorse, made of cut branches and logs on the far side of the room. Lashed in place is a crossbow, it is aimed at the opening and has a long
cord running from it, across the room to form a trip line at the opening. You triggered it as you came in.
Dukejr01: why wasn;t it tripped by the men going before?
Missiledine: 'you' as in your party
Dukejr01: i see.
Dukejr01: how is the militiaman? we stop the bleeding. bandage his wounds. appy hebs. do we have healing grass?
Missiledine: not with you... he is not critical, but out of commission for awhile
Dukejr01: okay. make sure his bandages are tight. give him something to drink.
Missiledine: there is another opening out of this chamber, steps going up
Dukejr01: we should get him back to the village.
Missiledine: No one seems to keen to leave the safety of the group and retrace their steps back
Dukejr01: we take the crossbow, look for any identifying marks. A will give itto the militiaman later as a "good luck charm"
Dukejr01: okay. can he walk?
Missiledine: hobble
Dukejr01: detail four men to stay here. A suspect that this passage up may dead end. no point in hobbling along painfully if we just turn back.
Missiledine: the steps climb and turn left, after the turn you can see light ahead... a moment later you emerge on top of the highest tower... the one
where Jacinta and Miklas saw the thing land.... to the west the sun is starting to set... it will not be long before it is dark
Dukejr01: allright. lets head back.
Dukejr01: when we get to the T, A will cast seek earth again.
Missiledine: from where you are standing now, it points straight ahead, same as it did before
Dukejr01: i see. lets take one more passage. leavethe wounded man and 4 guys here. we takethe other fork.
Dukejr01: "We'll check this way and go home"
Missiledine: everyone nods in agreement
Missiledine: the passage goes about fifty feet, thangles to the left a bit less then 45 degrees, continues another thirty or forty feet, the the wall on
the right opens up into more of those long rooms full of urns
Dukejr01: okay. check out this room
Dukejr01: A will cast seek earth a couple times
Missiledine: a long, narrow room with two other exits, both back into the tunnel you just came out of... you would guess that there were at least five
hundred urns in here, mostly the four foot size, but maybe half or broken now... still looking for silver?
Dukejr01: yes.
Dukejr01: hopefully we will find some in here.
Missiledine: how many times do you cast?
Dukejr01: well. lets see what happens. if there is silbver close, he moves and triangulates, I am suspecting now thateh silver I was seeking is in the urns
Dukejr01: at least twice, but if it is getting closer. I keep at til I find it.
Missiledine: first time you cast you find nothing at all
Dukejr01: really. intersting. am I in a no mana zone?
Dukejr01: cast again. i think it was a failure
Missiledine: <No, you just had a really lousy roll>
Missiledine: second casting gives you an angle and distance that points right, through the back wall of this room, and a distance of maybe 600+
feet
Dukejr01: has it moved?
Dukejr01: what exit leads that way?
Missiledine: no, but you have moved relative to it
Missiledine: none that you see
Dukejr01: two other exits? lets take one
Missiledine: both go back into the tunnel you came out of
Dukejr01: oh. i see. nevermind. lets go home.
Missiledine: As your filing out of the chamber, one of the youngest militia, a boy of maybe 16, opens one of the urns, lifting the lid to see whats
inside.... You hear a crash and a scream of fear from the boy
Dukejr01: <wights? that would suck>
Dukejr01: how far away is A?
Missiledine: your back out in the tunnel, starting back the way you came... You hear men shouting and the clash of steel... more urns shattering...
Dukejr01: oh shit.
Dukejr01: return to the room
Missiledine: Pushing your way through your men, you see five of your militia, Gallus and one merc, engaged in combat with what appears to be
animated skeletons in tattered rags and rusty bits of armor... they wield a variety of weapons, all rather battered looking... the boy is staggering
back towards you, clutching his side, you can see blood gouting through his fingers

Missiledine: these aren't Jhensari weapons, they are Velitar, a few look to be of Goblin make. The armor scraps are Vewlitar as well

Missiledine: there are maybe a hundred or more untouched urns in here... the six skeletons were inside the urns nearest the one the boy broke

Dukejr01: Athamar looks at his men. How do they look?
Missiledine: Gallus, who is panting heavily from the unexpected exercise and nursing a nasty scratch, says, "If all those urns have these things in
them..." He trails off.... the men look tired, scared but also excited, having won their first battle
Dukejr01: okay. what is the best tactical position? can we break a couple at a time with say,. a crossbow. then make them come to use in the door way so we can
get 3 or four onthem at the same time?
Dukejr01: Athamar is thinking these things need clearing and his militia need blooding. an easy victory would be just the thing.
Missiledine: Gallus shakes his head, "What if they all start coming out... No, my Lord. I'd send for a priest... They know how to deal with these
things."
Dukejr01: "Right. I will seal this place with stone."
Dukejr01: what is easiest? sealing he corridor or the entrances
Missiledine: to seal the corridor you need to do it at both ends, since you don't know where it comes out. The entrances are about the same size
as the corridor, but there are 3 of them
Dukejr01: 12 foot corridors?
Missiledine: yes, 8-9' ceilings

Dukejr01: which means it would take hours

Dukejr01: oh, wait a turn is a second or two,. the spell lasts a minute.

Dukejr01: okay. A casts shape stone. drawing two from his powerstone so he isn't exhausted. he blocks the corridor at both ends and we head home.

Dukejr01: A sighs. "Well, they won't be getting out for a while. where was the other room of urns? we should seal that too just in case.
