Session 2
Docportal: Hey
Missiledine: Hello
Missiledine: Hang on a sec while I get set up
Docportal: ok
Missiledine: Ok, I'm ready
Missiledine: When we left off, you were about
to approach the other brothel
Docportal: ok
Missiledine: What exactly will you do?
Docportal: Ring the bell or knock on the door
Missiledine: Well, you will pound on the
knocker for about a minute before another
burly fellow, looks like the first guys cousin,
opens the door. "What do ya
want?"
Docportal: "I would like to talk to you for a
minute."
Missiledine: "Go ahead." He replies
Docportal: I am looking for a woman.
Answers to the name Yasmar
Missiledine: "Don't know her. Anything else?"
Docportal: "No, thank you my good man."
Give $2
Missiledine: He takes it with a grunt of thanks
and closes the door.
Docportal: (how many brothel are in the
area?)
Missiledine: Looking around a bit, you see
what looks like two more right on the water
front
Docportal: Ok I will try to remember this area.
I go to the closet traven
Missiledine: several of these along the
waterfront as well
Docportal: Well I look for one that is having a
party
Missiledine: its about 10 am, no one is having
a party. Everyone is working. Thats why the
brothels are closed
Docportal: (Can I try to find two slaves? at one
time.)
Missiledine: sure
Docportal: Ok I go back to the wall
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: There was a man. What is list for
him
Docportal: I this is what I have "One is an
adult male, the reward is $400"
Missiledine: It is a human male, about 6' tall,
180lbs, muscular. Black hair, brown eyes,
Khun Dhagra accent, answeres to the name
Molhen. Considered violent
and dangerous. Brand #76215 Reward $400
Docportal: Can be marked or not?
Missiledine: dead or alive
Docportal: reward for dead disffent from the
live reward?
Missiledine: no
Docportal: ok
Docportal: the it say where he might be?
Missiledine: no. You presume this area, or
they wouldn't have posted it in the city
Docportal: (Do slaves have money? Or are
they poor)
Missiledine: they have only the clothes their
owners allow them
Docportal: ok back to the docks
Docportal: we go
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: I go to the closest dock to me and
just look and see if I see him
Missiledine: there is only one waterfront area,
tho it has several piers (or docks) the
description that you have could fit at least a
third of the men working down
there
Docportal: ok so any a third to talk to.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: *only
Missiledine: maybe a hundred men that you
see at the moment, tho people are always
coming and going
Docportal: Go to the dock hand
Docportal: "Good Morning sir.
Missiledine: It'll take some searching to find
him
Missiledine: the one you talked to before?
Docportal: Yeah start there
Missiledine: ok... He's working down on the
deck of a river barge that looks about ready
to depart
Docportal: "Hi there again. I am looking for
another freind of mine."
Missiledine: He looks up and grins. "You
again? Who is it now? Another girl loading
barges?"
Docportal: "Yes me again and no not another
girl loading barges. His name is Molhen."
Missiledine: "Molhen?" He repeats. There are
a couple other men working here abouts and
the man raises his voice, "Any you buggers
know a guy named
'Molhen?" Those who bother answering
shake their heads or call, "Nah."
Missiledine: "Sorry mister. No Molhens."
Docportal: "Call me Tim. And Thanks again, I
will be back after I find him. I will proiblily will
need a job."
Missiledine: He chuckles, "Ok Tim. You do
that." He goes back to work moving sacks of
grain
Docportal: I will work my way to the right. I go
for the next dock.
Docportal: And look for the dock hand
Missiledine: all right. It's pretty much the same
scene here. A dozen or more guys loading
and unloading each of six barges or boats
Missiledine: The place is full of dock hands,
you want a foreman?
Docportal: Yes and higher if posible.
Missiledine: each crew has 1 man directing
the work, overseen, generally, by the
vessel'sa captain. Some of the workers are
clearly crew. On each pier is a
covered booth where several men are seated
handling the paper work affiliated with the
cargo and boats.
Docportal: Ok go over to a Booth.
Missiledine: there is usually a line of people,
captains, waiting their turns for the paperwork
and shipping receipts
Docportal: I get in to line and wait.
Missiledine: ok, finally the captain in front of
you, grumbling about the slow pace of the
paper exchage, moves away and its your turn.
There is an older man,
probably in his seventies, looking at you
expectently. His hand extended for your
manifest
Docportal: I am not a captain. I am looking for
someone. Would you have a name sheet with
your works names on it?
Missiledine: He frowns and says, "Wht do you
ask?"
Missiledine: why
Docportal: "Well we were going to the
brothels and I wanted to tell him I would not
make it but he didn't tell me which dock he
work at."
Missiledine: He looks at you for a moment,
then says. "Do you know what this guy looks
like?"
Docportal: Yeah, about 6' tall, 180lbs,
muscular. Black hair, brown eyes
Missiledine: "He's a friend of yours?"
Docportal: yes
Docportal: "his name is Molhen."
Missiledine: "Then why don't you just walk
around until you see him and stop holding up
the line?"
Missiledine: "Besides, most of the guys here
work for the captains or the Foremen. Not for
me."
Docportal: Because I was drinking and I don't
remember what his face looks like.
Missiledine: The men behind you are
grumbling in agreement
Missiledine: "A real close friend, eh?" Says
the man behind you. Everyone laughs
Missiledine: "He probably doesn't remember
you either!" Calls another captain
Docportal: I grumb back to them all "Yeah you
proiblily right." And get out of the way of the
others
Missiledine: "Look," Says the old man. "Go to
the brothel where your suppose to meet and
leave a message with the bouncer."
Docportal: Now that an idea.
Missiledine: The old man turns his attention to
the next set of papers
Docportal: I go to each loading area and
check them out.
Missiledine: Check them out how?
Docportal: (You know pictures would help)
Missiledine: Sorry, none are posted
Docportal: I go and start asking them if they
have seen the guy I am looking for.
Docportal: Or better yet look for numbers on
them
Docportal: (Where are the numbers?)
Missiledine: Ok, male slaves are generally
branded on their forearms.
Missiledine: Bear in mind that there are NO
freed slaves
Docportal: So any body I find with Branding is
a slave.
Missiledine: correct
Docportal: And they will try to hide that part of
there body.
Missiledine: females are usually branded
undere their arms, high up
Docportal: That is going to make it fun.
Missiledine: if they are an escapee, they
would if they don't want to be caught
Docportal: (remember I am 17)
Missiledine: yeah, I'm talking about the armpit
Docportal: ok that I think there are some ways
to see.
Docportal: Back to the story. I look for anyone
try to hide there forearms.
Missiledine: Most of the men working here
are stripped to the waist. Those that aren't
almost universally have their sleeves rolled up
Missiledine: its a pretty hot day
Docportal: Do I see any with Brandings?
Missiledine: if there was anyone here with
visible brandings, that wasn't in chains or
under some kind of guard, they would have
been arrested already
Docportal: Good point
Docportal: Can i see or have I seen all the
workers?
Missiledine: you'll spend about an hour
walking the entire waterfront, but you think
you've had a good look at everyone
Docportal: ok then I go to the next dock and
do this again.
Missiledine: You have done the entire
waterfront
Docportal: So there are no more dock that I
have not seen?
Missiledine: right
Docportal: What time is it now?
Missiledine: little after noon. People are
starting to break for a meal
Docportal: follow the main crowd.
Missiledine: some are going into taverns,
some are sitting outside to eat food they
brought, many are going home to eat
Docportal: I guess I will go back to my home
and get some food.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: Say hi to my cos.
Missiledine: Your cousin asks what you've
been doing
Docportal: "Oh just looking for some run away
slaves."
Missiledine: "Oh? That must be tough."
Docportal: "and looking for a job."
Missiledine: "Finding the slaves I mean."
Docportal: "Yeah, I never thougth it was hard
to find someone."
Missiledine: "It is when they don't want to be
found... What do they look like?"
Docportal: "That as is a problme. One is a
man, about 6' tall, 180lbs, muscular. Black
hair, brown eyes, Khun Dhagra accent,
answeres to the name Molhen. The other is
a woman, she is 5'6", weight 125lbs, dark red
hair, green eyes. Speaks with Khun Dhagra
accent."
Docportal: *That is a problem
Missiledine: "Hmm, It must be tough getting
by with that accent. Everytime they open their
mouth they run the risk of giving themselves
away."
Missiledine: "Still, they might find an
abandoined house or someplace no one
goes to hide... Or maybe one of the criminal
gangs might take them in, if they didn't
turn them over for the reward."
Docportal: "Now I had not thought of the
gangs. I try the dock for the man, and some of
the brothels for the woman."
Missiledine: "Yeah, maybe. But the more
people they are around, the more likely they
will be overheard and recognised.."
Docportal: "And the abandoined houseing.
Where might I find some of the abandoined
buildings?"
Docportal: "If they are hiding they would go for
a place where they would be safe."
Missiledine: there are a few in town, back in
the areas where they smelt metals... more
outside the city
Missiledine: there are also the sewers...
Docportal: But would it be better to hide in the
abandoined buildings. Less things that would
eat them.
Missiledine: "Maybe, but the City Watch does
occaissionaly sweep the abandoned
buildings. Tho if you were alert you could
probably avoid the Watch
Docportal: "So if you were a run away slave
you would hide in the sewers?"
Docportal: There is food down there and no
city Watch.
Missiledine: Your cousin shrugs, "There or
maybe in the ruined area outside the walls."
Docportal: "Well cousin you have giving me
some idea to follow. So what is for lunch?"
Missiledine: There is an area, a couple
blocks in extent, that lies outside the walls.
Before the Rebellion it was a prosperous
section. During the siege it was fought
oveer and burned several times. It was never
rebuilt, being regarded as haunted.
Missiledine: Baked fish
Docportal: "Well lets eat so I can go check
these places out."
Missiledine: ok, you eat
Docportal: I get my backpack and tell my
cousin I will try to be back befor dinner.
Missiledine: goodluck
Docportal: "Thanks"
Missiledine: where are you going?
Docportal: I think I will try the sewers.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: Is there some where I can buy a
map of the sewers?
Missiledine: where do you want to start?
Missiledine: Maybe the City Watch or some
other element of city government
Docportal: Ok I go find the City Watch
Headqurters.
Missiledine: there may be criminal sources as
well
Missiledine: easily done, its not far from the
wall where the posting is
Docportal: ok I look around the City Watch hq.
Docportal: Or get in line. If there is a line.
Missiledine: you approach the gate, there are
two guards who ask your buisness
Docportal: I would like to buy a map of the
sewers.
Missiledine: They look at each other, then the
corporal says, "Why?"
Docportal: "I am looking for runaway slaves
and I was thinking maybe they are hiding in
the sewer system."
Missiledine: He stares at you a moment, "Uh,
huh... Come with me."
Docportal: "I follow him."
Missiledine: He leads the way across the
courtyard, in a door and down a hall to a
door."Wait a moment." He says, then knocks
on the door, waits till a voice bids
him to enter, goes in and closes the door
Missiledine: Do you wait?
Docportal: What dose the room look like?
Docportal: Yes I wait
Missiledine: your in the hallway
Missiledine: A few moments later the door
opens and the corp says, "Come in." Beyond
in an office with a desk and a man dressed
as an officer of the watch
Docportal: Go in
Missiledine: The officer looks up. The corp
closes the door and says, "Lieutenant, this is
the man." The officer nods and says, "Sit
down."
Docportal: I sit down
Missiledine: "The corporal says that you want
a map of the sewers... May I ask why?"
Docportal: "I am looking for run away slaves
and thought maybe they were hiding in the
sewer system."
Missiledine: "If they were there, we would find
them." He says confidently
Docportal: "So you have men down in the
sewers sir?"
Missiledine: "We do patrol it, naturally. "
Docportal: "I was just thinking that I might
need a map. If end up down there. So I can
get back out again but if you got men
patroling it. I will look in other places."
Docportal: "Maybe. We can work together
and sweep the abandoned buildings."
Missiledine: "You must understand, we
discourage people from wandering the
sewers. It is an obvious point of access to the
better homes. If we find you down
there, we will arrest you."
Missiledine: "The Watch does not assist
bounty hunters." He says rather coldly
Docportal: "So if I am chasing one of them
and they go for the sewers. I can I follow?"
Missiledine: "Anyone caught poking around
the sewers are presumed to be engaged in
illicit activities."
Missiledine: (Doc, I'll be back in a couple
minutes. My wife just got home from work.)
Docportal: ok
Docportal: "Ok I will stay clear of the sewers. I
will aleat the nerest city watch man. If they
slave do go for the sewers."
Missiledine: ok, I'm back
Docportal: ok.
Missiledine: "That woulkd be prudent."
Missiledine: would
Docportal: "Ok with that aside. Can you tell
me the order that you chack house?'
Missiledine: "The order?"
Docportal: "Yes, like witch end of the city do
you start on?"
Missiledine: We sweep the area maybe once
a week."
Missiledine: "Often in response to complaints
or tips."
Docportal: "So you have not gotten
complaints. Then I think I am done here. I will
go look on my own. Out side the city."
Missiledine: "Very well. If you catch one, bring
him here."
Docportal: "Yes sir."
Missiledine: The corporal will hold the door for
you and escort you through the gate.
Docportal: Ok once out of there. I will try the
ruines outside the city.
Missiledine: Ok, the ruined area is South East
of the city. Its maybe fifteen or twenty acres in
extent. The northern boundry is right up
against the main city wall.
There was at one time a cutain wall that
extened around the district, the houses inside
were two and three stories high, homes of
fairly well off people.
Missiledine: Now the curtain wall is mostly
collapsed and has been scavenged for
materials.
Missiledine: The buildings, mostly gutted by
fire at some time in the past, are in many
cases partially collapsed into the streets
Docportal: I will listen for any sounds and start
checking each house.
Missiledine: There is brush and vegetation
growing out of the piles and the whole place
has a desolate and spooky look. One would
not think it could exist so close
to a busy city like Glenluce
Docportal: Then I should fit right in.
Missiledine: You will need to pick your way
with care through the wreckage. Other than
distant street sounds from the city, the only
noises you hear are birds and
the wind through the ruins
Missiledine: (Are you desolate and spooky?)
Docportal: (No, appearance: unattractive)
Missiledine: BTW: I'd like a description to
post on the site
Missiledine: Ah!
Docportal: (For my character?)
Missiledine: Tho outer most buildings are in
the worst shape
Missiledine: (yes)
Docportal: (ok, Will come up with one
sometime tomorrow and e-mail it to you.)
Missiledine: they not only bore the brunt of the
battle and received the greatest exposure to
the weather, but they have been repeatedly
scavenged for stones and
bricks. The inner buildings are in better shape
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: Then I will go for the best building
left
Missiledine: You'll have to clamber your way
over piles of rubble and push through the
thorns and brambles, but you reach a three
story building with dark gaping
holes where the windows and doors were...
One pile of rubble from the collapsed
neighboring building, will give you easy
access to the second floor
Docportal: I listen again to see if anyone is
moving around.
Missiledine: It seems pretty quiet
Docportal: I go and check out the first floor.
Missiledine: Are you entering from outside to
the 1st floor? Or do you use the window I
described?
Docportal: I enter for outside.
Missiledine: Ok, searchng around will show
you that the few first floor windows and doors
that existed were long ago barricaded,
probably during the seiges.
Docportal: I look to see if any have be opened
if none are opened. I will go to the second
floor. Thougth the windows.
Missiledine: None of the first floor windows or
doors are open
Docportal: Then I will move to the second
floor.
Missiledine: there are at least 6 open
windows on the second floor. One that you
could practicly walk up to and through, the rest
you will need to climb to.
Docportal: I will go for the easy one.
Docportal: Looking for traps
Missiledine: You will need to scranble up the
steeper bits of the rubble pile, but then the
going gets easier. You don't see anything that
resembles a trap. There are
some vines that half curtain the window and
keep you from seeing into the dark interior
Docportal: I go in.
Missiledine: ok, you push the vines aside and
peer into the gloom. The room appears
deserted, there is piles of broken plaster,
collapsed from the ceilings and
walls from dampness and neglect. There are
bird and other animal droppings and you can
hear the hum of wasps from nests built in the
corners at ceiling level.
Missiledine: As you enter you notice some
resistence from the vines... looking at them
you see a fine, dark colored cord tied to the
thickest part of the vine
andrunning, tautly, down through a finger
sized hole in the floor.
Docportal: I get ready for a fight.
Docportal: I listen to see if anyone is coming
for below.
Missiledine: You stand still, listening, but you
don't hear anything
Missiledine: yet
Missiledine: How long do you wait?
Docportal: A few minuts. 5 at the most
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: The wasps nest are in this room
right?
Missiledine: yes
Docportal: I can see it?
Missiledine: several of them
Missiledine: ordinary paper wasps
Docportal: ok I will remember that there are
there and move on to the next room. slowly
Docportal: I do have my staff I hope.
Missiledine: ok, the room you are in is about
15' wide and 30' long. You entered in the
middle of a long wall. The door is in the
opposite wall, a bit off center. It
opens to a hallway
Missiledine: you have all your stuff
Docportal: ok good. I will go for the hallway.
Missiledine: as you look out into the gloom,
you realise that there is no wall opposite the
door, rather it is a balcony overlooking a
central well
Docportal: Do I hear anything, yet.
Missiledine: The landing goes all the way
around with doors opening in from the various
rooms. You can look down or up to the next
floor
Missiledine: no
Docportal: is there enought stuff laying around
to build a nose trap?
Missiledine: it's pretty dark in here, some light
is filtering in from the doorways and a bit from
holes in the roof
Missiledine: a what?
Docportal: I need something to make a loud
sound if someone comes behind me.
Missiledine: you could probably find some
wood or sticks to partially barricade the door..
maybe a couple pieces of the balcony
Missiledine: railing
Docportal: I think about it and that would
make sounds do that so I cast a fireball. And
hold it. I will use it for light.
Missiledine: Wait a minute.. what are you
doing?
Docportal: I am creating a fireball for light.
Missiledine: ok, but your not picking up the
wood or touching the railing?
Missiledine: Are you building the fireball?
Docportal: No I don't pick up anything yet. No
just a 1 pt fireball.
Missiledine: ok, then what?
Missiledine: you are still by the doorway
Docportal: It should give off light.
Docportal: I should be able to see more stuff
about the room.
Missiledine: it does, a bit. Not much more
than a candle or two
Missiledine: You are on a balcony, big open
space. Look down or up
Missiledine: go left or right
Docportal: I will look down.
Docportal: I want to find out what the strang
was tired to.
Docportal: I will move toward the the way
down.
Missiledine: Ok, the area below is barely lit
from the light filtering down from the broken
roof two stories up.. You can see what
appears to be broken furniture,
piles of rubble, dark, mounded forms that
could be anyhing. You can also see the
landing of the steps down at floor level, its to
your left.
Docportal: I will move to the floor level.
Missiledine: As you move to the left you hear
a ';Thwack' and hum of a crossbow from
down below. You are hit in the left shoulder
with a bolt for 2pts damage
Docportal: I return fire with fire ball
Missiledine: you have only a vauge idea of
where it came from, exactly
Docportal: Throw in the are where it came
form.
Docportal: Not trying to hit. I am trying to light
the area
Missiledine: ok, it swooshes down and
thumps into a pile of debris and splutters and
flares for a few moments, you catch a glimpse
of a shadow moving away to
the left (Your left)
Docportal: I will follow.
Docportal: readying a explosive fireball
Missiledine: you will have to move along your
landing till you find the steps down
Missiledine: you see it ahead of you on your
right
Docportal: I go up.
Docportal: I go down sorry
Docportal: Or did the shadow move on to a
room on the landing?
Missiledine: no, you can't tell where it went
except its not on the steps
Docportal: Then I keep move down the
landing. my left when I go hit.
Missiledine: as you stumble and feel your way
down the steps you hear a distinctive click of
a crossbow being cocked
Docportal: (Did do the ex fireball?)
Missiledine: no, you did regular fireball. You
need to tell me if you want the explosive type
Docportal: (for the one i was readying.)
Missiledine: sorry, yes its ready
Missiledine: are you building it?
Docportal: I throw it down the hall way. and hit
the floor.
Missiledine: down the stairs?
Missiledine: you are on the stairs, making
your way down to the 1st floor
Docportal: Yes throw it down stairs and get
my body agest the stairs.
Missiledine: uhm, are you laying down on the
steps, or moving against the railing?
Docportal: laing down on the steps
Docportal: trying to make it harder to hit me.
Missiledine: ok, the fireball explodes with a
huge bomm! the flare illuminates the room
briefly, you can see a figure diving off to your
left to get behind cover. Then
you hear a groan and a crash as plaster and
moulding falls from the ceilings under the
balcony and even some from the roof area.
Docportal: I cast another ex fire ball at the last
location I saw the shadow.
Docportal: Or figure. (over kill is better than
under done)
Missiledine: ok, it goes off successfully, but
you can't see its effect.
Missiledine: your target either wasn't there or
hidden behind something
Missiledine: More plaster falls all around the
room
Docportal: I should hear the boom.
Missiledine: oh, you hear the boom and see
the flash. You just don't see anyone affected
by it
Docportal: Oh ok.
Docportal: I make my way down to the first
floor. with deflect missile ready.
Missiledine: from the darkness you hear the
snap of a crossbow and the bolt carooms off
the steps about a foot to your left
Docportal: Go behind some cover.
Missiledine: ok, your off the bottom of the
steps. there is a mound of broken plaster and
furniture you can hunker down behind
Docportal: I try to hear where the person is.
Missiledine: the two fireballs have started
several smokey fires in the rubble... chunks of
plaster and debris are still falling here and
there all around you
Missiledine: you hear, to your right and
ahead, the soft click of the crossbow being
carefully cocked
Docportal: I cast return missile
Missiledine: then, to your left and behind you,
something skitters
Docportal: cast ex fire ball at the thing to my
right and ahead.
Missiledine: you will loose ret. missile
Docportal: then hold on the ex fire ball.
Docportal: I will cast that after it fires.
Missiledine: ret miss is a blocking spell
Docportal: yes
Missiledine: ok, so far your opponent hasn't
shot at you.
Missiledine: Again, from behind you, you hear
a skitter of rubble
Docportal: The person with the crossbow. I
want him/her/it to shot at me.
Docportal: I get up and get my staff ready to
take whatevery is behind me.
Missiledine: could be debri falling behind you,
could be something your enemy threw, or it
could be someone moving up
Missiledine: you rise and you hear the
crossbow snap
Missiledine: you use the blocking spell?
Docportal: yes i use my blocking spell
Missiledine: ok, it works, you hear the
crossbow humming, then a cry of pain and
someone stumbling
Docportal: Ok good i get down again.
Docportal: hiding for the person with cross
bow
Docportal: I creat fire over in the area I hear
the skittering of rubble. With an bigger area. I
am look for the rules
Missiledine: a few seconds pass, then you
hear the crossbow being cocked
Docportal: Forget the fire cast the ret miss.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: do this again. Stand up.
Missiledine: you can hear the person ahead
of you, who has the crossbow, moving away
from you, back into the darkness under the
balcony
Docportal: move closer to the person. with my
staff ready
Docportal: How are my fires doing?
Missiledine: its very dark back in there, but
you can just make out a coup[le doorways
Missiledine: still burning behind you
Docportal: and the smoke level?
Missiledine: three story open space, smoke
is rising nicely
Docportal: I try to make it to the wall
Missiledine: you cross the open space
without incident
Docportal: pick up something for the ground
and throw it into the door on the right.
Docportal: In the room on the right.
Missiledine: you toss a chunk of rubble
through, nothing happens
Docportal: repeat for the other door
Missiledine: nothing
Docportal: Witch room would the string for the
vine in it?
Missiledine: not on this side of the building
Docportal: ok I take the door on the right step
thought it.
Missiledine: darkness, the room seems
narrow but long. It also seems empty
Docportal: Is the other door also lead in here?
Missiledine: no, there does not appear to be
a connection
Docportal: I back out back to my fires.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: And try to get one burning better.
by blowing on it.
Missiledine: uhm, you coulkd add some fuel
Docportal: I do that also
Docportal: I try to get some flames and light
off something that I can throw.
Missiledine: ok, it brightens up the area. As
you do, you hear something from the other
room
Docportal: What do I hear? Can I make it out?
Missiledine: something moved, beyond tha
your not sure
Docportal: How is the throwing fire coming?
Missiledine: you can generate a makeshift
torch
Docportal: That is what I am going for.
Missiledine: you got it
Docportal: i light it and go to the other room.
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: Where the i hear movement
Missiledine: right
Docportal: I throw the torch in trying to hit
something that will burn
Missiledine: There is all kind of junk lying
about in these rooms, most of it is not readily
ignitable with anything less than the contrated
heat of a fireball.
Docportal: I try for the middle of the room
then.
Missiledine: you can't be sure how big the
room really is until the light is in it, but you can
toss it in ten or fifteen feet easily
Docportal: I do that
Docportal: Then I spet thought the door.
Missiledine: ok, the room seems to be about
twenty feet deep, and maybe as much wide.
The doorway you are looking through is
probably in the center of the
wall. There is another doorway in the far wall
Missiledine: you what?
Docportal: I go in to the room
Docportal: I am try to get hit my this
bowperson
Missiledine: what?
Docportal: sorry my = by
Missiledine: as you pass through the
doorway, someone is crouching low and to
your left, he rises, swinging an axe at your
belly
Docportal: Try to get out of the way
Missiledine: you are dodging?
Docportal: Yes
Missiledine: hang on
Docportal: ok
Missiledine: you don't
Docportal: ok how bad is it?
Missiledine: you will be hit hard in the mid
section for 5pts (Your DR blocked 2)
Missiledine: the arttack was 7
Missiledine: you have taken a total of 2 from
the bolt and 5 now
Docportal: Am I still able to fight?
Missiledine: you are staggered and stunned
from the damage. You seee a husky looking
figure coming at you. You are still up and
going, but your rolls are reduced
Docportal: I will run up to the second level
where the wasps are.
Missiledine: Your opponent has an axe, he
moves as tho he has sustained an injury as
well
Missiledine: well, you are not getting any
great lead on the guy
Docportal: Can I run and cast at the same
time still?
Missiledine: your too badly hurt and he's not in
that bad of shape
Docportal: Ok I will try to cast exfire ball a hit
him with it.
Missiledine: ok, you can cast, but he is pretty
close behind you, and you will have to turn to
hit him with it
Docportal: I turn and try to hit him
Missiledine: how many points will you put into
it?
Docportal: 2 no time to build
Missiledine: ok, you are half way up the steps.
The spell is ready, you turn and throw it.
Docportal: yes
Missiledine: Your opponent is charging up
the steps about six to eight feet behind you.
Missiledine: your spell throwing was
successful... He fails to dodge.. The fire ball
goes off at chest level
Docportal: With boom dose he get knock off his feet?
Missiledine: he is hurled backwards down
the steps... you sustain 1pt of damage from the blast
Missiledine: you are also knocked down
Docportal: I get up and conture runing for
the top room
Docportal: Sorry, Wasps room
Missiledine: you stumble to the top of the
steps, down the landing... there is a rumble
behind you and the floor is shaking as the
stairway collapses from the stress.
Part of the floor behind you also falls in
Missiledine: You stagger through the
doorway in a cloud of dust, back in the
wasp room
Docportal: Did I trap the guy down below?
Missiledine: no idea
Missiledine: you going back out to look?
Docportal: no
Missiledine: what are you doing?
Docportal: I ready a stone missile
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: 3 pt in to it
Missiledine: ok
Docportal: Do I hear any thing other than the wasps?
Missiledine: still a lot of crap falling in the great hall
Docportal: When My stone missile is ready
I will look in to the hall
Missiledine: the air is pretty dusty down there, looking over the edge you can see
the collapsed stairway, a lot of new rubble piles and what appears to be a dirty,
dust covered form lying near the broken stairs
Docportal: I try to hit it with my stone missile
Docportal: (Over kill)
Missiledine: or murder
Docportal: Hey dead or a live. He hit me.
Missiledine: ok
Missiledine: you hit him
Docportal: Did he move at all?
Missiledine: the body jerks, then is still
Missiledine: did 14pts to him
Docportal: I creat earth to get down to him.
Missiledine: you what?
Docportal: I cast creat earth to make a new stairway down.
Missiledine: the Earth must be created in
contact with the earth itself, not hanging in the air
Docportal: Is that body going any where any time soon?
Missiledine: to stack it up will require at least 5 hexes worth
Missiledine: no idea
Docportal: ok I go out the window and down
to the first level and brack in.
Missiledine: the barricades are of stone
Missiledine: (Doc, we need to wrap this up soon.)
Docportal: (yes I want this guy in town. If posible.)
Missiledine: ok, how are you getting to him?
Docportal: I was going to shape earth and open the barrivades to the room
Missiledine: need shape stone
Docportal: Then there is no way in to his room and no way out. I hope.
Docportal: Ok lets call it a night here and pick up next time.
Missiledine: that you have no way of knowing
Missiledine: ok
