Session 11
CST Series 2 Velitrium: Redlun Manor
Player: Duke, Tacit PC: Athamar, Jacinta
Missiledine: Ok then... when last we parted
you had just attended the morning services for
some, not all, of the unkhown victims of the
previous Lord of Redlun
Dukejr01: Right. is the schedule of guards
ready?
Missiledine: The villagers have offered to
cover the daylight hours, which are safe
enough
Dukejr01: Good. next question. are we
prepared to recieve the Abbot
Dukejr01: ?
Missiledine: Not really, but there is still
enough left over stuff from last night to make a
decent spread
Dukejr01: I figured that we wouldn't be feting
him with too much. will he be staying on
church land or will take a room in the Manor?
Missiledine: He will stay at the 'inn' as he
usually does on his infrequent visits
Dukejr01: is there room?
Dukejr01: we can use the tent for displaced
troopers.
Missiledine: Hmm, good point... Master Card
will put him up as the next best place after the
manor itself
Dukejr01: also, lets tour the village a bit,
begin by deciding the best place to build new
housing.
Missiledine: he will only stay overnight
Dukejr01: Okay. Athamar is very pleased with
Master Card.
Dukejr01: He is racking up the brownie
points.
Missiledine: ok, there is enough vacant space
for maybe 4 new cottages withourt moving the
pallisade
Dukejr01: alright. how does that jive with the
notion of straightening up the streets a little
bit? how hard will be moving the palisade?
Dukejr01: since /I don;t know anything about
the layout of the village, I am winging things
Missiledine: straightening the streets? That
will mean either cutting into peoples gardens
or knocking houses down
Missiledine: the main track comes in through
the gate and at a point roughly center,
spreads out in half a dozen dead end lanes of
varying lengths
Dukejr01: I am not so much interested in
staightening the streets themselves as I am
rationalizing hte layout. how much room is
there? can we extend the palisade?
Missiledine: the inn/tavern and the smyth are
near the gate
Dukejr01: k.
Missiledine: well, the village is located in kind
of a flattened horseshoe (canted to the side)
bend of the river. The pallisade crosses the
opening of the horseshoe
Dukejr01: hmmm... so making more room
behind the palisade will involve making the
palisade MUCH longer
Missiledine: the wall is fairly straight. By
bowing it out you could add to the interior
Dukejr01: how close is it to the manor? can
the defenses be incorporated? what about
MAster Card's esidence? is it behind the
palisade?
Missiledine: the reason the army engineers
didn't do that was, they didn't need the space,
but also because it made for a longer wall to
defend and the pallisade is
already to long for the village to effectively
defend
Dukejr01: could the RIVER be moved a bit,
the horseshoe expanded?
Missiledine: Card's residence is at the
vineyard complex, which has several high
fences and thorn barriers that connect the
buildings. It is not a perfect perimeter, but
it helps. All the buildings are located with the
river be hind them.
Missiledine: Not easily
Dukejr01: k
Dukejr01: hmmm.... the village waterfront. i
assume it just slopes into the water, we could
make the shoreline stone walled. lending
some additional space.
Dukejr01: well. lets just locate the bsest place
for the new cottages.
Dukejr01: 4 will have to do for now
Missiledine: looking at the area from above...
The river is at the top of the page flowing from
right to left... On the extreme left is the manor
house. Next (to the right)
comes the mill, then the vineyard, then the
village
Dukejr01: so the mill is outside the wall?
Missiledine: yes. But the Granary is inside
Dukejr01: k
Missiledine: There are a scattering of other
outbuildings along the way
Dukejr01: kinda inefficient.

-no sense of vision>
Missiledine: To build one wall to encompass
the entire area would require an army to
defend
Dukejr01: no helping it now. lets locate the
best places for the new cottages.
Missiledine: figure 1 man can defend 6' of
wall
Dukejr01: well, I havea couple of ideas on
how to make hte river a difficult barrior. but
that is for later
Missiledine: ok, you can easily spot four
building sites. This is for the two story
cottages?
Dukejr01: the more room the better. we need
housing
Dukejr01: Would three story be better?
Missiledine: Well from the mill back past the
village, the water is already 9 to 12 feet deep
on average
Missiledine: You do not have enough plot for
a house and three gardens/pens etc
Dukejr01: exactly, which means the ford and
the bridge will be primary points of defense. I
havea couple ideas aboutthat.
Missiledine: You don't really have enough
room for two sets of gardens and pens etc
Dukejr01: how many troops have families?
Missiledine: Below the mill damn and about
300' past the village, the river returns to its
more normal 3 to 6 foot depth
Dukejr01: k
Missiledine: Well, if they are lucky, they all will
eventually
Dukejr01: <sigh> well, my idea about the
cottages was to build UP to save space on
the ground.
Missiledine: yes, but the square footage
needs to be about the same on the ground.
Assuming 1 floor per family
Dukejr01: what did the former Lord do? he
had more troops
Dukejr01: also, Redlun is underpopulated
Dukejr01: I am going to move the river later, I
think
Dukejr01: former lord was before the
palisade. I know
Missiledine: oh? that will be fun... may screw
up a lot of things
Dukejr01: evil evil GM. bowing out the
palisade will make how much room?
Missiledine: depends how far you want to
take it... but off hand, you could easily add 8
to 10 lots
Missiledine: What did you intend? Pushing
the bend of the river further out?
Dukejr01: hmmm... lets assume 8, don't want
to make the wall too much bigger.
Missiledine: A large part of the pallisades
effectiveness is its well developed, very
dense, thorn barriers
Dukejr01: the river? when we drain the
millpond to derdge it, Athamar will move the
course over a tad, making more of a bow in
the river at the village point. then
building walls of stone deep and strong for to
make aditional yards usable.
Dukejr01: I realize tha about hte thorns. sucks
to not have enough real estate,.
Missiledine: Two things... First the thorns...
You might be able to pay a druid to
accelerate the growth of the new plantings
Dukejr01: okay. Athamar using earth spells. I
can move ALOT of earth in a day. if we break
the mill dam, let it drain, how long will it take to
drege out pond, move
the river banks. build the new stone
embankments?
Missiledine: Second... Do you know what an
ox bow lake is?
Missiledine: and how it forms?
Dukejr01: yes,. yes I do the river will tend to
cut into the embankment
Dukejr01: it will do that now
Missiledine: across the shortest point... the
center of the village
Missiledine: the cant of the horseshoe is with
the flow
Missiledine: now
Dukejr01: considering hte depth of the river,
and because it is a reservoir, the river at the
village probably doesn't move very fast.
Missiledine: true
Dukejr01: its wider, deeper than before and
after the village. slower moving.
Dukejr01: we can even make that effect
greater. widen and deepen it more.
Missiledine: sounds logical... until the big
flood!
Dukejr01: lol
Dukejr01: okay. the dredging and moving the
river ec is going to be a big project. might not
be able to do it before thaw. so, it is a project
for next year.
Dukejr01: lets get started with the 4 cottages.
Missiledine: ok
Missiledine: Probably don't want to spend the
winter with half the village defenses in a
shallow state
Dukejr01: right.
Dukejr01: so we squeeze a bit. a couple
mercs can stay inthe manor. the single ones.
Missiledine: You can get your carpenter and
mason to start laying out the house sites
Missiledine: None of the cottages have
basements
Dukejr01: right. Athamar will dig out the celler
and build the chimneys.
Dukejr01: too near water?
Missiledine: Uhm, cellars might be a problem
Missiledine: yep
Dukejr01: k. athamar will smooth out the
foundation and make the foundations.
Dukejr01: err.. make the chimenys
Missiledine: ok, when do you plan to do this?
Not today
Missiledine: tomorrow?
Dukejr01: no, probably not. Athamar will be
occupied with the Abbot.
Missiledine: or today, the Abbot isn't here yet
Dukejr01: well, no harm is starting work. build
a Chimney. ought to impress the Loks
Missiledine: Might, or scare the poop out of
them!
Missiledine: nah
Dukejr01: lol. they will just have to get used to
it.
Dukejr01: a few already got a taste yesterday.
i am sure they all heard about the cont lights
and the stoneshape at last night's festivities.
Missiledine: Magic is common enough in
Velitrium not to cause superstitious dread.
The fear is more realistic, everyones heard a
story or knows someone who
knows a guy that was there when a spell went
wrong...
Dukejr01: Kaboolie!
Dukejr01: kablooie
Missiledine: yep, and no one wants to meet
the Demon Lord who will appear when you
fuck it up
Dukejr01: too bad. Ahamar is the Lord, he is
casting Spells.
Missiledine: which?
Dukejr01: he will cast shape earth to smooth
and firm the foundation. then form extra earth
into the first 6 feet of the chimney and then
Earth to Stone.
Missiledine: lets see if you get a demon
Dukejr01: after resting, he will form slabs of
stone for the foundation.

Dukejr01: Jacinta wants a friend

Missiledine: okshape earth works fine
Dukejr01: jacinta wants a Love Slave
Missiledine: so does E to S
Dukejr01: make sure that there is no grass
and twigs inte new chimney...
Missiledine: you have a crowd watching, from
a save distance
Dukejr01: k.form the stone into thespecified
chimney shape.
Missiledine: you will be using your architect
skill
Missiledine: works ok
Dukejr01: k. well, don't cast E to S if it doesn't
look right.
Dukejr01: shouldn't be too hard. not like an
arch or dome.
Dukejr01: make sure the footing is good so it
doesn't sink into the earth dues to weight
Missiledine: it takes a little finegling to make
sure its not lopsided or anything, but you are
satisfied
Dukejr01: Athamar is petty casual about the
whole thing. he goes to sit down, resting.
chats amiably.
Missiledine: cast e to s to make a footer,
otherwise it will sink over time
Dukejr01: k. so there is jsut a footing now
Missiledine: might want to make the whole
floor stone, drier
Dukejr01: take Athamr 50 minutes to recover.
so, one casting an hour, about. in the
morning, the chimney can be done. yes. stone
floor, assumed that
Missiledine: ok
Dukejr01: it will take a few days to finish each
cottage.
Missiledine: not a problem
Missiledine: right now you have leveled the
site and laid the foundation
Missiledine: then you rest
Dukejr01: k.
Dukejr01: Athamar looks around, checking
out the folks, looks at pretty girls.
Missiledine: a few here
Missiledine: With the harvest in, most of the
villagers have a bit extra time, so most
everyone is here, except those tending the
herds
Dukejr01: k. well, unless something comes
up, that is what Athamar does until the Abbot
arrives.
Missiledine: As you are relaxing and chatting,
sipping some mead brought out by the inn
keeper, you see a young buy come running
through the gate, look around
then run towards you. Someone says its one
of the shepard boys
Dukejr01: Athamar looks at him kindly
Missiledine: "My Lord," He pants. "The
Abbot's coach is coming through the
woods...."
Dukejr01: "Good lad!" Athamar gives him a
penny or something.
Dukejr01: Athamar stands up and goes to
greet the Abbot.
Missiledine: ok, you see coming along the
edge of the woods, across the river, a coach
and four armored guards
Missiledine: They will cross the bridge into the
village in just a few minutes
Dukejr01: hmmm.... okay. we should probably
have some wine for his Eminance.
Dukejr01: Athamar dusts off his boots or
something.
Missiledine: The inn keeper agrees and
hurrie off to gather something
Dukejr01: Nordan probably fusses with
Athamar's appearance a bit, lets also get the
sibs here.
Missiledine: Ollyn will send someone to find
them
Missiledine: You can see the coach and
horse clearly, and they make quite a racket on
the bridge. The carriage is pulled by four
chestnuts with a driver and
crossbow armed footman up top. TRhe four
Sacarium Guards are in mail with med
shields and lances
Dukejr01: k. are we as prepared as we are
going to get? is it near noon? table
prepared?
Missiledine: the footman and driver may be
Sacarium gurads, but you can't be sure
Dukejr01: he IS an Abbot after all
Dukejr01: ah,. the Friar wil want to be
informed as well.
Missiledine: as ready as your people can
make it. You see the old Friar and the monk
making theit way along the track
Missiledine: The cavalcade comes to a halt in
front of the inn. The Sacarium Guards look
around suspiciously for a moment while the
footman hurries to open the
carriage. What are you doing?
Dukejr01: good. "Good morning, Friar."
Athamar smailes at him.
Dukejr01: sorry. that was a little late
Missiledine: he bows slightly, "My Lord."
Dukejr01: Athamar will wait a respectful few
yards away. waits until the sacarium guards
are satisfied before walking closer to greet
the Abbot.
Dukejr01: <do we kiss his ring or
something?>
Missiledine: yes actually
Dukejr01: k.
Dukejr01: After the Abbot disbouches from
the coach. Athamar looks him in the eye and
says "WElcome to Redlun, Your Emminance.
I am Athamar Tallanar."
then makes the appropriate kissy kissy
Dukejr01: debouches
Missiledine: Ok, the carriage is open and you
see a rather fa... er, portly, priest in the robes
of a Senior Priest with the trappings of an
Abbot, climb unsteadily down.
He appears to be in his fifties, balding, ruddy
complexion. As he sets foot on the ground he
extends his hand, "Lord Redlun?"
Dukejr01: I assume Your Emminance is the
approriate honorific
Missiledine: (As the coach was creaking to a
halt, you noticed Jacinta come riding up on
one of the horses. She tethers it and waits at
the ready)
Missiledine: Reverence
Dukejr01: Athamar looks at her and nods
approvingly.
Dukejr01: okay. strike Emminance,. insert
Reverence
tacit01: she nods back
Missiledine: right
Missiledine: "Ah, LOrd Redlun. It is a pleasure
to see this beautiful land with a strong hand to
guide and protect it."
Missiledine: The Abbot greets the Friar. "Jol!
You are looking well."
Missiledine: The Friar kisses the Abbots ring.
"Thank you your Reverence, you are kind to
an old man."
Dukejr01: i struck the reply I was making...
Dukejr01: unless yo uwant to hear it.
Missiledine: The Monk who assists the Friar
bows very deeply. The Abbot speaks to him
by name, "Brother Elias. I trust you are
well?""Yes your Reverence."
Dukejr01: otherwise. Athamar suggests
refreshement
Missiledine: Up to you
Dukejr01: it was a social nothing. no big deal
Missiledine: The Abbot is always amenable.
The Inn Keeper has set up a table and chairs
in the shade and has laid out three glasses of
wine and a tray of snacks
Dukejr01: Athamar gestures the Abbot
toward the table.
Missiledine: As you, the Abbot and the Friar
and monk make your way to it, the Abbot
greets almost everyone in the village by
name. Even knows the names of the
children
Dukejr01: Athamar likes this guy.
Missiledine: clearly a not infrequent visitor
Missiledine: Once you, the Abbot and Friar
are seated (the Monk withdrawls) the Friar will
pour the wine
Missiledine: "So Lord Athamar, how do you
find your new holdings?"
Dukejr01: Athamar waits until the Abbot sits
and defers slightly due to the friar age the
better spot for him.
Missiledine: (Socially, the Abbot is your
superior)
Dukejr01: "In truth, I haven;t seen the whole of
it. Redlun is a fine village, the folk obviously
industrious. I think that we shall prosper, your
Reverance.
Missiledine: You note that Gallus has ordered
food and drink for the Abbot's retainers
Dukejr01: I know. I meant that Athamar defers
to the Abbot, then lets the friar settle his old
bones comfortably, even if it isa slight breach
of etiquete
Missiledine: "I sincerely hope so, Lord
Redlun. I sincerely hope so."
Missiledine: ok
Dukejr01: "A great deal of work to be done.
and I am sure a number of surprises await.
Some left by the former Lord, perhaps."
Missiledine: "I didn't mean to interrupt your
get acquainted period. The truth is, I'd have
been out this way anyway. Come to see old
Jol."
Missiledine: The FRiar bows his head and
smiles, "Your reverence is too kind."
Missiledine: "Surprises? Has there been
some surprises?"
Dukejr01: "Your presence is most welcome,
Your Reverance. I am delighted to make your
acquaintence and hope that you will be a
regular guest. I fear my hospitality may be
poor until we can get settled. I can see that
you are well known in Redlun"
Missiledine: "Yes, I try and stop in on the
Friar. Have to keep him in line."
Missiledine: Out of the corner of your eye you
notice Ollyn chivying Tassiter and Danika into
the village
Dukejr01: "Nothing alarming. I made a grisly
discovery in the manor. The bodies of four
unfortunates left by the previous tenants. The
good Friar out three of them
to rest this very morning. the fourth is going to
be some difficulty recovering."
Missiledine: "Oh?"
Missiledine: "An old tragedy, your
Reverence." The Friar murmurs
Dukejr01: "The body is locked in an iron
maiden. I can find no key. I will have to think of
something clecer."
Dukejr01: clever
Missiledine: "I will pray for the unfortunate."
The Abbot agrees
Missiledine: Basicly you will have a little bit of
chit chat and some refreshments for about an
hour. (Is there anything you want to bring up?)
Dukejr01: Athamar will mention that there was
a mage in residence at one time. thn inquire
about local security.
Missiledine: local security?
Dukejr01: goblins etc.
Missiledine: ah
Dukejr01: intelligence is the first step in a
military undertaking. bad intelligence kills
soldiers.
Missiledine: The Abbot shrugs, "There are
always problems of course. The Sacarium
Guard and the Priests and monks are enough
to keep the Abbey safe, and we
are not far from the Baron and his troops, so
we have only a minimum of problems."
Dukejr01: Athamar nods.
Missiledine: "You are a bit more, exposed,
then we are."
Dukejr01: "Yes, hence my concern." Athamar
smiles, "We shall see what needs done."
Dukejr01: the kiddos get introduced.
Missiledine: "Mitra will give you strength.
Now, My Lord. If you will excuse us. The Friar
and I have some Church Affairs to discuss..."
Missiledine: "Ah! Who are these young
people?"
tacit01: <is this a short visit, or will the horses
ned tended to?>
Missiledine: he is staying overnight
Missiledine: The Coachman will tend the
horses, along with the Guards
Dukejr01: "These are my siblings. Tassiter
and Danika"
Missiledine: "A pleasure to meet you, your
Reverence." Says Danika. "An honor, your
Reverence." smiles Tassiter
Dukejr01: pardon, Athamr says "Your
Reveracne" first
Missiledine: The Abbot greets them in return
Dukejr01: then he excuses himself "Of
course." Athamar stands and bows slightly to
the Abbot, "Your REverance. Friar"
Dukejr01: Athamr returns to work.
Missiledine: The Friar bows, The Abbot
acknowledges you
Missiledine: Gallus will approach you after
you leave the Abbot. "My Lord, I have
arranged for all of us to dine at the Vintner's
house tonight."
Missiledine: Tassiter and Danika are
following you a few steps behind
Missiledine: All of your key people are
present as well
Dukejr01: "Excellent." Athamar grins at him,
stops, sighs a bit. "Anything else need my
attention?"
Missiledine: "Nothing more than usual, My
Lord."
Dukejr01: <snort>
Dukejr01: Athamar looks at his sibs. "You did
well."
Missiledine: "Why thank you, dear brother."
Tassiter grins
tacit01: "M'Lord, if I could have a word.."
Missiledine: "Not too badly yourself, except
for dribbling wine down your front."
Dukejr01: Athamr rolls his eyes. fakes a
punch at him.
Dukejr01: Do these two have something to
occupy them?
Missiledine: Absolutely
Dukejr01: "Get your studies done before this
evening. you probably won't have a chance
then."
Dukejr01: okay. "Yes, Jacinta?
Missiledine: They smile sweetly, wave and
leave
Dukejr01: pop quiz in the morning, i think
tacit01: "It's a matter of some discresion, sir"
Dukejr01: Athamar nods. walks over to where
it is quiet
tacit01: <make sure no one is in ear shot> "I
make a discovery when exercising the horses
- by the river - a secret door, to a passage
which leads from the river
toward the keep"
tacit01: "I didn't explore far, just inside the
door"
Dukejr01: Athamar raises an eyebrow.
"hmmm... not entirely unecpected. Was it
opened? Did it see recent use?"
tacit01: "It was not opened, an animal has
been burrowing at the foot of the door, and I
was curious about the burrow, else I never
would have noticed it - It was
dusty inside, but I did not explore far, in case
someone would notice the horse not being
tended at the river and come to investigate"
tacit01: I was sure you would want to limit this
knowledge to a few people"
tacit01: I saw no footprint or trampled grass to
indicate use of that entrance
Dukejr01: "Good. we shall investigate this
presently. Inform Ollyn of this and tell him that
we will be looking into this soon."
Dukejr01: "tell no one, of course."
Dukejr01: what time is it?
tacit01: yes - shall I share everything with Ollyn
Missiledine: About one
tacit01: ?
Dukejr01: he is married.
Missiledine: lol
tacit01: don't make me spell everything out, I
get enough of that crap at work
Dukejr01: okay. the Abbot looks to be
occupied for awhile. lets take a look now.
Athamar will go get Ollyn, inform Gallus of
what we are up to.
Missiledine: ok
Dukejr01: JAcinta obviously is part of the
expedition.
tacit01: :-)
Missiledine: obviously
tacit01: <wow, we're all chatting on the same
screen and everything>
Missiledine: you only have one horse here at
the moment
Missiledine: incredible
tacit01: we'll want to be sure not to draw too
much attention - would 3 horses be seen from
the village if picketed at that spot?
Dukejr01: eh?
Missiledine: walk vs rid, My Lord
Missiledine: ride
Dukejr01: how far away is the spot?
tacit01: good question - how far?
Missiledine: otherside of the manor, not quite
a half mile from the village
Missiledine: between buildings, trees, lie of
the land... shouldn't be visible from the village.
tacit01: 10 minute walk...
Missiledine: Almost definately from the manor
tho
Missiledine: yeah
Dukejr01: okay..... hmmm.... walk, let Gallus
use a horse toget around since he is busy.
Missiledine: ok
tacit01: right <way to be lordly, and stuff>
Dukejr01: expedition includes Ollyn, Athamr ,
Jacinta and Miklas. Gallus knows where we
are. Miklas will act as sentry.
Missiledine: ok, you set out. After a brisk ten
minute walk, you are along the river bank
between the river and the manor
tacit01: Let Gallus know the horse is at his
disposal, and off we go! (I presume)
Dukejr01: Athamr is practical. exercise won't
do him any harm.
Missiledine: "Ack! My Heart! Agggghhh..."
Thump!
tacit01: Jacinta will point out the boulder
facade, the animal burrow, and the fingerhold
Dukejr01: I knew I should have blown a few
more points on HT. rather than Longevity and
REsistance to disease.
Dukejr01: anything magical?
tacit01: <also make sure there is no reiver
traffic or anyone watching from the manor>
Missiledine: Jacinta needs to peer around a
minute to get her bearings, then leads you to
a middling size rick set in the overhank part of
the hill leading up to the
manor. Its about fifty feet from the tower. You
can see the dirt is dug and disturbed under
the base of the boulder.
Missiledine: rick? Rock!
Dukejr01: looks like an animal?
Missiledine: hard to say now, since Jacinta
has opened the door its kind of messed up,
but the size is right
Missiledine: maybe a badger or something
like that
Dukejr01: k. Athamr loks it over and touches it
with his staff. checkingfor magic.
Missiledine: none
Missiledine: You going to open it for him,
Jacinta?
Dukejr01: okay. " Jacinta. will you please
demonstrate how the door is opened?
tacit01: (sorry, was AFC)
Missiledine: likely story
tacit01: she will look for the finger hold
again...
tacit01: on the left side
Missiledine: ok, you find it easily and pull it
open
Dukejr01: "Hmmm... Athamar looks at the
mechanism.
Missiledine: The door seems to have no
locking mechanism and is easily pushed
open from the inside (you presume)
Dukejr01: om hinges? is it hidden well? was it
boviously formed by magic?
Dukejr01: ..
Missiledine: on hinges, but not obviously
magic
Dukejr01: crap. nevermind
Missiledine: lol
Dukejr01: me so stupid
Dukejr01: stopped scrollin

Missiledine: happens to me once in awhile

Dukejr01: look at floor looing for footyprints.
look at walls and ceilings for traps
Missiledine: you can see where some one
(Jacinta) entered here. The floor dust is
disturbed, maybe an animal as well?
Missiledine: No sign of traps that you can see
Dukejr01: well, send light in ten feet.
tacit01: "Perhaps I should go first -I am, well,
more expendable"
Dukejr01: athamr hands her a cont light.
Missiledine: Ollyn will take rearguard
Dukejr01: "move cautiously
Dukejr01: I hope we have some rope along
Missiledine: uhm, no
Dukejr01: sigh.
tacit01: she takes it, nods - she will draw her
sword, use it to check the floor ahead of her
tacit01: we should close the door, and make

straight. About fifty feet ahead you see a
narrow flight of stone steps gooing up
Dukejr01: as long as someone else is
outside.

tacit01: forward cautiosly - visualy inspect the
ceiling as we go
Dukejr01: k, when we ge to the stairs we look
at them closely, before taking them
Missiledine: Well, Jacinta will. She's in front
and the tunnel is only about three feet wide
Dukejr01: k.
Dukejr01: athamar sends the light to he
ceiling. so we can see it clearly

can tap and sweep with the sword

first, then hand, looking for traps, trip wires,

Missiledine: The steps go up about twenty
feet
tacit01: and then? door? landing? demon?

Missiledine: the walls of the tunnel are (and
the ceiling) are set with rough hewn stones
with lots of bumps and projections to hit
yourself on
Missiledine: The landing is another tunnel
turning to right, then another set of steps up. In
front of you, as you reach the top of the first
steps, is a low door. You can
see a bronze (you think) catch on the side
Dukejr01: Athamr sends tho light on over.

with Ollyn bumping you and you bumping

up the steps, the passage is to your left...

well it is hidden from this side.

exercise. Then being in tight spaces with girls
wouldn't have that effect)

Missiledine: theses steps are identicle to first.
They reach a landing about the same size as
the first. Another small door on the right. More
steps up ahead of you
tacit01: maybe make a lap around the room -
or assign me to cleanup....
Dukejr01: "Ollyn. when that room is cleaned,
someone we trust had better go in first and
erase the dust tracks that point out that door."
Dukejr01: troy: we think alike
tacit01: we've RPG'd together too long
Dukejr01: wow, check this door. same proceedure

floor room of the Old Keep. This room has
been cleaned. The door is set in the alcove

blah The steps end in a small landing.
Dead end except for another small door on right
